IT dysfunctional me, creative websites

I've been busy researching how to setup a server AND a system for online survey of my thesis for almost whole week. I had roughly idea but it's always easier to just talk about the idea but actually have no idea.
Webpage + Database
1. Htmls as survey pages embedded with Java script to control the flow
2. Save the answer to a predefined database via ASP/PHP/JSP
3. Database can be MSSQL/MySQL or even just Excel
4. Then we can run the ANOVA analysis
Sounds very logically and easy.

After calling three friends who actually run websites of their own and so kindly instruct me lots of how-to (Andy even plotted the framework of phps for me), I bravely took my first step to open the desktop box today. BUT I freaked out after 30 mins cuz I failed to install XP on a Linux ready desktop, even if I got the XP disc and reset the boot sequence and whatever I could do…that's the simplist IT job..I lost the sense *sniff*

I am ready to tell my lovely naïve teacher "IT'S NOT GOING TO WORK!" because neither I can implement it efficiently nor one without html and database skill can leverage this system in the future. We need Plan B.

Everything is not running so well thise week. I shopped around for EASY courses cuz I needed to save my time for thesis work. My course portofolio is ready: ttl 4 courses, 3 in the afternoon and 1 in the evening. *yes! no morning class*

So cold today and I hate the wind.

BTW, I have to introduce my friends' websites because they are so creative.

It's an online community service with location-based features. In plain words, blogs with google map and others. It's quite popular recently.

iMath愛數學 http://www.imath.com.tw/
It's a high-school 24/7 math tutoring website with the most comprehensive electronic material, such as complete test database with tags, step-by-step solution, and video..etc (You might find one teacher looks familiar. Shhhhh..it's a secret)
